Alpha Cygnids - a possible July minor meteor shower
We present a comprehensive study of a possible α-Cygnid meteor shower. Based on visual and telescopic observations made by Polish observers we estimate basic parameters of the stream. Activity of α-Cygnids lasts from around June 30 to July 31 with clear maximum near July 18 (solar longitude λ = 116.5◦). Maximal Zenithal Hourly Rates (ZHRs) are equal to 3.6± 1.2. The structure of the radiant ana...
متن کاملDensity-Based Clustering and Anomaly Detection
As of 1996, when a special issue on density-based clustering was published (DBSCAN) (Ester et al., 1996), existing clustering techniques focused on two categories: partitioning methods, and hierarchical methods. Partitioning clustering attempts to break a data set into K clusters such that the partition optimizes a given criterion. Besides difficulty in choosing the proper parameter K, and inca...
متن کاملImprovement of density-based clustering algorithm using modifying the density definitions and input parameter
Clustering is one of the main tasks in data mining, which means grouping similar samples. In general, there is a wide variety of clustering algorithms. One of these categories is density-based clustering. Various algorithms have been proposed for this method; one of the most widely used algorithms called DBSCAN. DBSCAN can identify clusters of different shapes in the dataset and automatically i...
متن کاملCommunity Detection in Complex Networks Using Density-based Clustering Algorithm
Like clustering analysis, community detection aims at assigning nodes in a network into different communities. Fdp is a recently proposed density-based clustering algorithm which does not need the number of clusters as prior input and the result is insensitive to its parameter. However, Fdp cannot be directly applied to community detection due to its inability to recognize the community centers...
متن کاملdbscan: Fast Density-based Clustering with R
This article describes the implementation and use of the R package dbscan, which provides complete and fast implementations of the popular density-based clustering algorithm DBSCAN and the augmented ordering algorithm OPTICS. Compared to other implementations, dbscan offers open-source implementations using C++ and advanced data structures like k-d trees to speed up computation. An important ad...
